ABOUT US
Just as RED Digital has created a new breed of tool for Cinematography by evolving and learning along with RED Cinematographers, and Post Production staff through our development process - REDucation is structured to follow along with that philosophy. Courses will evolve and develop over time from both student and industry feedback, and will be most current and relevant by teaching the best work practices. As the tools continue to change, evolve and improve, REDucation will follow along. Graduates of REDucation will have access to special online continued education tools and classes and some will be cultivated as potential instructors and teaching assistants of future classes as they log enough RED job working days in the industry.
Just like the earliest RED ONE owners and early adopters on RED jobs were critical to RED's success, the first round of students and faculty will be critical to the success and growth of REDucation. The early students will not only be learning from industry leading professionals on how to best work with RED, they will be crafting the education for the future of the motion picture industry.
As REDucation gets on its feet, we see a future where we hold specialized training sessions for educators worldwide to take the RED recommended learning and bring it back to their film and multimedia schools. There is no limit to where this can head in the future and how it can become more specialized and focused on other areas of the industry that are shooting RED as their primary production format.
It is important to note that REDucation is the RED approved and sanctioned education for learning RED. While the popularity of the camera and the 1000's of RED jobs and massive industry adoption of the RED have created a lot of entities teaching RED in some fashion - none have been authorized by RED as the best practices that we believe should be taught. REDucation is what RED believes is the best way to learn the RED camera and RED post production techniques.
We at RED look forward to an interesting evolution of this part of our world, empowering more qualified crews to make the best possible images and the most evolved and efficient post production practices with RED.
In creating REDucation, RED gathered industry leaders to participate in designing the training. Alternative Rentals, Createasphere, FotoKem, Keslow Camera, Michael A. Cioni, and PlasterCITY Digital Post are all part of the founders of REDucation. Createasphere is the operations arm of the training.
